Four AI assistants come up in most conversations about this: ChatGPT, because nearly everyone already has it; Meta’s Muse and Spear Street’s Instinct, because both launched to enormous attention in 2026; and Rapi, the executive assistant built by Biks.

The comparison people expect is about which model is smartest. All four are built on frontier models, so that is rarely what decides it. What decides it is what each one was designed to do, how much of your working life it needs access to, and whether you can get it today.

What each one is

  • ChatGPT: OpenAI’s general-purpose assistant. Available in Indonesia, free tier plus paid plans, used through an app or browser. Enormous range, no opinion about your business.
  • Muse: Meta’s personal AI agent, launched 2026. Plans trips, drafts and sends email, fills forms, and pauses for approval before consequential actions. Runs on iOS, Android, the web and WhatsApp.
  • Instinct: A personal AI agent from Spear Street Technology, founded by Noah Shinn. Reached a reported 2.5 billion dollar valuation in August 2026. Connects to email, messaging, screen, audio and location, and acts on your behalf through SMS, WhatsApp and voice notes.
  • Rapi: The executive assistant built by Biks, for people running a business. Works inside WhatsApp, reads the documents you forward it, and returns finished work: briefings, reports, drafts, decks and follow-ups.

They are built for four different jobs

  • Open-ended thinking: ChatGPT. Best when the problem is hard and unfamiliar and you want to reason it through. You supply the context, it supplies the range.
  • Personal errands: Muse. Plans the trip, fills the form, drafts and sends the email, and stops for approval before anything consequential.
  • Continuous life admin: Instinct. Watches enough of your email, messages, screen and location to act without being briefed each time.
  • The work of running a business: Rapi. Takes the recurring admin that collects around your decisions and hands back finished work: briefings, reports, drafts, decks and follow-ups.

The question underneath: what does it get to see?

Instinct is the most capable-sounding of the four and also the most invasive by some distance. It connects continuously to email, messaging, screen, audio and location. TechCrunch reported concerns in August 2026 about its security model and terms, including the logging of sessions and the breadth of the rights the company claims over operational data.

For a personal assistant handling restaurant bookings, that trade may be acceptable. For a director handling client contracts, payroll and bank information, the permission model is not a footnote. It is the whole decision.

Rapi is built on the opposite default. It sees what you send it, and nothing else. Each business runs in an isolated environment; your conversations are never used to answer anyone else; and you can view, correct, download or delete the data it holds. Rapi will never ask you for a PIN, an OTP or a password.

Then check which ones you can actually get today

Muse publicly launched on September 8, 2026 — in the United States only, for users aged 18 and over. Pricing is a free tier for everyday use with paid plans at 20 and 100 US dollars a month. No Southeast Asia date has been announced.

Instinct is further away still. As of September 2026 it remains an invite-only private beta, free during testing, with reported subscription plans between 200 and 500 US dollars a month once it opens.

ChatGPT is available in almost every market. Rapi is live for businesses in Indonesia and Singapore and takes new teams from a waitlist. So depending on where you are, the real shortlist is often shorter than four, which is worth knowing before spending an afternoon on feature tables.

For most people it comes down to two

ChatGPT is extraordinary, and nearly everyone already has it. It is also somewhere you go. You open it, paste the context, get an answer, and carry the answer back to where the work actually lives. That round trip is fine once. It is exactly why nobody performs it for the fortieth small task of the week.

Rapi assumes the opposite: the assistant belongs in the thread you are already in. You forward a contract in WhatsApp and the summary comes back in WhatsApp. The Monday briefing arrives without being asked for. The work leaves as a finished document rather than as an answer you still have to format.

Which is why the interesting comparison is not about model quality. Both are built on frontier models. The difference is whether the assistant comes to where your work already happens, and whether what it hands back is finished or still needs formatting. If your day runs in WhatsApp and documents arrive as photographs of printouts rather than tidy PDFs, that difference is the whole decision.

How to choose

  • Occasional thinking partner for a hard, open-ended problem: ChatGPT. It is the best general-purpose tool available and you probably already pay for it.
  • Personal errands, and you live in the United States: Muse today. Instinct if you are comfortable with the access it requires.
  • The recurring work of running a business, off your evenings: Rapi, which is the job it was built for, in the app your whole day already happens in.
  • Still unsure: Pick the single task that cost you the most time last week and try one assistant on only that. A week of real use answers this faster than a comparison table, including this one.
